Mom Friends!

I recently posted about finding mom friends and how hard it can be. I see posts all the time online wondering about where to find some other moms to hang out with. I have been very luck to find two different Meetup mom groups. They are LMNOP and Lexington Playgroup Meetup. Both of these groups have been wonderful for me in many ways. For one, I have been very lucky to meet some really wonderful people. I get to meet up with them and talk. They often have meetups too that are just for the moms. So, you can actually get a second to talk and not run after your kids. These have been wonderful! Second, my kiddo gets to be around a bunch of other kids. This is always good because it gets him used to being around other kids his age or not. He learns the rules of play, how to share and loves trying to imitate other kids. Third, he gets to do new things that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. We have gone to new parks, played at peoples houses with cool new toys, done Easter egg hunts and Halloween parties. They really are great groups that I would suggest highly, especially if you are new to the area or just want to meet some new people.

If you like hiking with your kiddo, there is also Hike it Baby. They have hikes or toddler-led walks many times a week and are a great way to get out there and meet new people. I know there are other stroller walking groups that meet up a few times a week too.

No one should have to feel alone in parenthood. So, hopefully everyone will find some friends that you enjoy being around and can support you through the lows and celebrate your highs.
