What's Happening this Weekend- June 3rd and 4th

This weekend, check out a craftapalooza, toy testing event, Tic Tac Toe workshop, County Fair, Concert on the Lawn, Bike Event and much more. ​Looks like a beautiful weekend with highs in the 80s and not a good chance for rain. Enjoy!

Saturday, June 3rd

Joseph Beth is having A Beautiful Oops Craftapalooza at 11:00am. There are no mistakes in art! We'll get out all the art supplies and discover how we can turn an ordinary smudge or stain into something fantastic! Play clothes recommended for this slightly messy good time. More information here.

The Magical Toy Shoppe is having an Be an Official Melissa & Doug Toy Tester for the day event from 10am-4pm. We're transforming our store into a Toy Testing Lab, where kids ages 3+ will use the power of their imaginations to test out four Melissa & Doug toys, share their feedback and discover the joy of coming up with new ways to play!! Plus the first 20 toy testers will go home with Inspiration Kits full of ideas and activities to keep the fun going! Williams Sonoma at Fayette Mall is having a American Girl™ Birthday Party at 10AM. Barnes and Noble is also having an If You Ever Want to Bring a Circus to the Library, Don't! Storytime at 11:00 AM. If you see a poster that says "You Can Do Anything at the Library!," it is NOT giving you permission to put on a circus! But Magnolia doesn't see any problem with setting up her own big top. She's got a lot of gusto and one mean human cannonball routine. So what if her greatest show on Earth won't fit between the bookshelves? Activities to follow. More information here.

Home Depot is having a Tic Tac Toe Kid's Workshop from 9am to 12pm. Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a wooden tic-tac-toe game to play with family or friends almost anywhere. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their game board and pieces with paint and stickers. o All kids get to keep their project, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. o Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin. St Elizabeth Ann Seton County Fair will run from 2pm to 11pm. Carnival Rides and games, pony rides and petting zoo, rummage sale, bingo, great food and lots more. $1 admission. Unlimited ride passes $25.00. More information here.

POP Club Kickoff at the Lexington Farmers Market from 9:30am to 11:30am. Hi everyone!! This summer we are kicking off a NEW Power of Produce (POP) Club at the Lexington Farmers Market through our Fayette County Farm to School Program. This FREE youth club is open to any child age 5-12 who visits the market on Saturdays from 9:30-11:30. There will be yummy tastings, activities and vouchers for kids to purchase their OWN fruits and vegetables!! We're kicking off this summer-long club on June 3rd and will run through July 29th. Come register any Saturday at the POP Club table next to the market information booth. (If you participate in the club for 6 or more of the 8 weeks, you'll get a prize at the end!!). The Family Center in Wilmore is having a Farmer's Market Fun event from 9:30am to 10:30am. Farmer's Market FUN! is a great way to include the whole family in our Wilmore Farmer's Market. Located just across the street families may come for a time of games, crafts and stories at 9:30am. At 10am we open up our Farmer's Market Village Play Area for Free Play. Each week brings a new presenter and topic!THIS WEEK: BERRIES! Blue Berries, Strawberries, Raspberries and Blackberries. Have a BERRY good time! The Family Center in Wilmore is also having a Hike It Baby-Camping with Kids event from 11am to 12:30pm. Camping with a toddler for the first time? Michael's Stores are having a Flip Book making event from 10am to 12pm. Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. $2 includes all supplies. More information here.

Kentucky Reptile Expo at the Convention Center from 10am to 4pm. The KRE returns to Lexington on Saturday from 10a-4p. Admission is on $5, 10 and under are free! Good Foods Co-op is having a Sampling Saturday from 11am to 2pm. Bike Lexington Family Fun Ride starts at 8am. The Kids Rodeo is a youth instructional course open to all kids up to age 12! This year the Kids Rodeo course will be a closed circuit where kids will be doing a series of short laps. The Kids Rodeo is FREE, all kids must complete a waiver/registration form, and wear a helmet. All age groups up to 12 can join the fun! Instructional courses will take place beginning at 8:00am until about 9:55am on Short and Limestone. Kids Rodeo registrants will be entered into a raffle to win a free children’s bike from Pedal Power! The second annual Slow Cycle will be an event that you won’t want to miss!The Slow Cycle is a FREE competition for ages 18+. The object of the Cycle is simply to be the last person to cross the finish line. Registration will start at 8:00am at the Bike Lexington registration booths. The Slow Cycle will take place at 9:00am on East Short Street and Limestone next to the registration tents.Free Helmet Giveaway and Fitting'sLook for the booth next to the Kids Rodeo on Short Street to grab a free helmet! Sky Zone has Toddler Time from 10am to 11am. Let your kids 5 and under enjoy three different jumping areas, including a foam pit. Toddler Time is a great shared experience for child and parent. A time for your little ones to discover the joy of being active, bouncing under the supervision of their parents, and without interference from the big kids. $12 per child, including socks. $2 extra for non-jumper parent socks.
