What's Happening this Weekend- April 8th and 9th


There are lots of great things going on this weekend, including tons of Easter events. So, I hope you have your Easter baskets ready for grabbing some eggs! Make some Easter slime, have breakfast with the Easter bunny, have an aquatic egg hunt, an Easter cupcake party, or enjoy many different egg hunts. Or, check out the Dandelion Festival, a paper airplane event, a rock, paper and scissor storytime, or spend some time at Keeneland at Sunrise Trackside or Kids Club Family Day. Weather looks warmer with highs in the 60s on Saturday and in the 70s on Sunday.

Saturday, April 8th

Michaels Stores are having MAKEbreak Easter Slime Bar event from 1pm to 3pm. Take a Slime MAKEbreak with us this Saturday 4/8 from 1-3pm. Come in-store for a FREE slime-filled Easter Egg and customize it at our Easter Slime Bar with fun mix-ins! No registration required, just stop on by! More information here.

The Pavilion in Georgetown is having an Aquatic Easter Egg Hunt from 9am to 12pm. Hunt for eggs in the pools of the Pavilion! All participants will receive a treat bag and the participants with the most eggs will receive a prize basket. Early Registration is $6. Day of Registration is $10. Ages 6 and under start at 9AM. The Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond is having a Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event from 9am to 10:30am. Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny! There will be music, coloring and prizes! Cost is $5.00 per person (pancakes and sausage breakfast). More information here.

Berea College in Berea is having their 2nd Annual Dandelion Festival from 9am to 6pm. Join us for our 2nd Annual Dandelion Festival where we will be "Reimagining the American Landscape" through workshops, live music, activity booths, vendors and more! "The Festival will be held on Fairchild Lawn on Berea College's campus from 1-6pm and will feature live music, booths from local businesses, food, games, and activities (all child-friendly)! More than 20 vendors will be there!Berea College Dining Services will serve dinner on the lawn from 4:30-6pm. More information here.

Ceder Ridge Health is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt from 9:30am to 11am. Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt!Saturday, April 8th9:30 am - 11:00 amThis is a FREE community event. Northeast Christian Church is having an Easter Treasure Hunt from 10am to 11am. Bring your Easter baskets and join us for our annual Easter Treasure Hunt on Saturday, April 8th at 10am! This event is free and is open to children, ages birth through third grade. The fun will get started at the East Wing entrance, so make sure to park in the lot off of Pink Pigeon Parkway and enter through the East Wing door. More information here.

The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass is having Egg-stravaganza Easter event from 11am to 2pm. Hippity hop your way to The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass on Saturday, April 8th from 11AM to 2PM.Meet the Easter Bunny and snap a photo of the moment with your phone. Special goodie bags for the first 100 kiddos who meet the Easter Bunny! The Headley-Whitney Museum of Art is having an Egg Hunt from 12pm to 2pm. The Easter Bunny came early to the Headley-Whitney Museum. Bring the kiddos to scout the grounds and find all the treats left behind! Gardenside Baptist Church is having an Eggstravaganza event from 1pm to 3pm. A family fun event with an egg hunt, games, fun color egg search with a Jerusalem theme, refreshments, prizes and more! Rain or Shine! More information here.

Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort is having an Easter Egg Hunt from 1pm to 4pm. An egg-citing event for children and parents! Search for thousands of treat-filled eggs plus enjoy refreshments and pictures with the Easter Bunny. All activities are free and begin at 1:00 p.m.Hunt times: Ages 0-2 -1:15pm. Ages 3-4 - 1:35pm. The Family Center is having a Single Parent Power event from 5pm to 7pm. A Monthly meeting for parents like you! Parenting with out a Partner. Everyone is welcome! Meetings are laid back and have lots of time for eating and talking while kids of all ages have something to do! We hope to have things like Game Night, Craft Night, maybe even a special guest or two. Help us spread the word and come hang out!!!DETAILS: Bring the kids or get a sitter, its up to you. $5 meals will be available - sponors coming soon. Joseph Beth is having a Fold, Flap, Fly a Paper Airplane Extravaganza Saturday, April 8 at 11:00am. Learn the ins and outs of paper airplane engineering where we'll make several different types of planes, put them through their paces and finish by flying our squadron over the balcony! Barnes and Noble is having a The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors Storytime at 11am. From Drew Daywalt, author of the New York Times bestseller The Day the Crayons Quit, comes a laugh-out-loud picture book about the epic tale of the classic game Rock, Paper, Scissors. Williams-Sonoma at the Fayette Mall is having a Jr Chef American Girl™: Easter Cupcake Party at 10am. We're throwing a cupcake party and you're invited! Keeneland is having a Sunrise Trackside event from 7am to 8:30am. Join us every Saturday morning during the race meeting for Sunrise Trackside. Enjoy Breakfast with the Works, watch the horses train on the track and enjoy free children’s activities in the Kids Club Corner like face painting, photos in jockey silks and meet Buckles the Kids Club mascot. After breakfast, learn more about the horse industry during our fun and educational paddock demonstration. Breakfast: Equestrian Dining Room from 7-8:30 a.m. $7 for breakfast buffet. Morning Pointe in Lexington is having their 4th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 1pm! Come join Morning Pointe and The Easter Bunny to celebrate Easter with a fun-filled day of games, dying eggs, spoon races, bunny toss, sack race, face painting and live music. We will have plenty of snacks and other events including a jelly bean counting contest. We will be hiding over 1,500 eggs in our courtyard for kids of all ages to find! Win a prize by finding a special Golden Easter Egg! The Easter Bunny will also be available to take photos with the children and families. Sky Zone is having an Easter Toddler Time event from 11am to 12pm. The Easter Bunny will be joing us for a special Toddler Time on Tuesday April 11th from 11am-12pm! Second Presbyterian Church is having an Easter Egg Hunt starting at 12:00pm. Free Kid-Friendly Snack at 12:00; Preschool Hunt at 12:30; Elementary Hunt at 12:45pm. More information here.

Aqua Tots is having an Easter Egg Hunt from 4pm to 6pm. Join us on Sunday, April 9th from 4-6pm for an Easter Egg Hunt! Aqua-Tots members and non-members are welcome. Entry to the event is just $5 per child. We will hunt for eggs in age groups, as follows:4:15 pm: 2.5 years and younger 4:45 pm: 5 years and older (in the pool) 5:15 pm: 2.5 years to 4 years old Open Swim until 6pm. More information here.

Keeneland is having Kids Club Family Day from 12pm to 3pm. The Keeneland Kids Club is the Official Kids Club for Keeneland fans 12 and younger. During the race meet, Kids Club members and their families are invited to enjoy a special day at the races by receiving free general admission and access to reserved Grandstand seating. Children’s activities will take place in the North Terrace from noon to 3 p.m. More information here.

Junction City First Baptist in Danville is having an Easter Egg Hunt from 11am to 1pm. Join us at Junction City First Baptist for our Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 9th. Families can arrive for the 11am worship service and immediately following the egg hunt will begin with over 3,000 eggs. Be sure to stick around after the egg hunt for the prizes and food. Versailles Presbyterian Church in Versailles is having an Easter Egg Hunt directly after their 10:45am service. It's time to find those eggs! The Versailles Presbyterian Easter Egg hunt hosted by the WCPCUSA youth will be held immediatly after the 10:45am service on April 9th! We encourage the congregation to stay and enjoy the excitement of the Easter Egg hunt that children preschool-5th grade can participate in. More information here.
