Pleasant Ridge Park

Pleasant Ridge Park is a really great park over near Hamburg near Andover neighborhood. It has a children's playground, a dog park and a field for playing soccer or just running. There are also plenty of picnic tables that are in the shade near the playground. They have indoor bathrooms near the parking lot and a water fountain.
The playground has a couple of baby swings, regular swings, a smaller play set (see above) with blocks they can climb up, two slides and a tunnel. It also has a large play set (below) with a windy slide and straight slide. There is a see-saw and a pit with mulch and a metal digger. The kids all seem to flock to the metal digger, but it is really hard to use and generally just swings around knocking into kids standing in the mulch pit. It is really open, so easy to see your kids if they are playing on different play areas.

The park is mostly in the sun and can get really hot in the summer. And, the biggest drawback, for me is how close it is to the road. The area near the digger has a walkway the leads right to the road and the kids love to run through it, causing all parents nearby to freak out. I wish they would put up a gate here or a door or just not have this opening for kids to walk though.
Overall, we love going to this park when we are in Hamburg. It is usually fairly crowded, but there is enough to do that it is still really fun. Check it out!
