Kirklevington is another good park in the south side of Lexington at 396 Redding Road. It is a medium sized playground with a lot of land for running and a paved walking path (I believe about a mile long). The playground itself has baby swings, regular swings, a play set for older kids, a play set for younger kids and a swinging bench. There is a ramp to get onto the large set, but I don't believe it is handicap accessible because you need to go up stairs to get to the slides from there. There are a bunch of slides, climbing area, double slides and tubes to climb through.

This park is great for the winter, spring and fall because there isn't much shade at all. It would be pretty hot on a warm summer day. It also does not have any pavilions or picnic tables. There is a good sized parking lot with two entrances and the park itself is a good distance from the road, but fairly close to the parking lot. There is good site-line for those with kids that may want to play on different things and you can see them easily.

My son's favorite thing to do the day that we went? Chase the huge ravens that were in the field. He ran and ran. Sometimes it is the little things....
