What to do this weekend- September 17th & 18th

There was some interest in a post that lists the fun family-friendly things going on in and around Lexington each weekend. So, here you go! There are lots of fun things to do this weekend! But, it looks like the forecast is calling for scattered thunderstorms both days. Boo! Hopefully the rain will hold out until everyone is worn out.

Saturday, September 17th:

Boyd Orchard is having a Scarecrow Festival from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Hayrides, apple picking, live music, 90 foot slide, tree house, pony rides, face panting and playground fun. $8 adults, $12 children. Pinckard Pike, Versailles. Info: Boyd Orchard Scarecrow Festival

Evans Orchard is having a Harvest Festival, which includes pony and hay rides, corn bin, tire climb, large slides, jumping pillows, fresh kettle corn, train rides, and animal area. 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. $8 per child, adults free with a paid child admission. 180 Stone Rd. Legacy All Sports is celebrating National Gymnastics Day with inflatables, Kona Ice, free instruction and a ninja course from 1-3pm. They are also having open gym from 3-8pm for $20. All proceeds from the events will be donated to Dance Blue and the National Pancreas Foundation. 261 Ruccio Way. Info: Legacy All Sports

Festival Latino de Lexington: Live music, dance, visual arts and authentic cuisine from 4-11 p.m. Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Info here.

Morris Book Shop is having a special story time celebrating the legacy of Anna Dewdney (the author of the Llama Llama series) from 11-12pm. 882 East High Street. More info here

The Versailles/Woodford County Parks and Rec Dept are having a Touch a Truck event from 10am to 1pm. Look at all the vehicles, talk to the drivers and jump on inflatables. All free and includes a police car, fire truck, ambulance, dump truck and more. Located at the Falling Springs Center parking lot. More information here.

Midway Fall Festival with crafts, food, demonstrators, entertainment and children's activities. Runs from 10am to 6pm. For more information, see here.

Toys R Us is having a special promotion where you can build and take home a free Lego Disney Princess character from 12-2pm. On Saturday the character is Disney Princess Cogsworth.

Joseph Beth is having a Fancy Nancy Musical Storytime at 11:00 am. Join us for a special storytime preview of Gives Back Partner The Lexington Children's Theater's Fancy Nancy! Join us for a fantastic musical event! More information here.

Barnes and Noble is having a Curious George Storytime at 11am. This marks the 75th birthday of everyone's favorite monkey - Curious George! Come join the fun and #GetCurious at our Curious George Storytime. Activities to follow. At 2pm, they are also having the third annual Batman Day celebrating the Dark Knight's endearing legacy. The event will include activities, trivia, coloring and much more. Cosplay welcome! More information here.
