It is finally time for Halloween! There are a ton of fun events scheduled for this weekend, including tons of Trunk or Treat events and Fall Festival events. If Halloween isn't your cup of tea, there are some great storytimes and festivals that are more fall oriented. This weekend will be beautiful with highs around 80 degrees! So, grab those Halloween costumes and get out there.
Saturday, October 29th
Keeneland is having their Halloween Sunrise Trackside event. Special Halloween Edition Buckles, the Keeneland Kid’s Club mascot, will award Kids Club prize packages to some of the best costumes. An appearance by the Headless Horseman will occur in the Paddock at 9 a.m. and on the track during the race day. Enjoy breakfast in the trackside Equestrian Dining Room for $8 (kids five and under eat free). Visit the Kids Club Corner and meet the Keeneland mascot Buckles. There will be free activities, including photos in jockey silks, face painting, and more. Learn about Keeneland through a guided walking tour of the grounds. Tour groups will depart from the welcome stand in the Paddock. Watch a live, educational equine demonstration take place in the saddling paddock, with a new guest each Saturday. Learn from the experts with a trackside handicapping seminar with handicapper Katie Gensler. Q&A with jockeys in the Walking Ring. Reservations are not taken or needed. All Saturday morning activities continue rain or shine. Breakfast is $8 per person, age 5 and under eat free. Starts at 7am until 11:30am. More information here.
Halloween Walk with the Animals from 12pm to 5pm at the Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort. Kids from Frankfort and surrounding counties dress up in their best Halloween attire to take a walk on the wild side! The kids will receive a treat bag to collect candy and a passport which they will take to each of the indoor and outdoor animal booths to receive a treat (or trick!), learn a little about and meet our animals. They will also enjoy a hay maze, face painting and a fishing booth.Come play with us! More information here.

White's Farm First Family Gathering is from 4pm-8pm. It's our annual Fall event!! Hayrides, bonfires, s'mores, and pumpkins...we got all the fall things right here! Pumpkinfest 2016 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. On Saturday, October 29th, “The Pumpkin Church” will hold our 3rd Annual Pumpkin Fest with games, activities, and tacos from 5-6:30pm in our front parking lot (inside the Life Center in the event of bad weather) followed by viewing “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” in the gym on a GIANT screen at 6:30! 2351 Alumni Drive. Hallowhinny at the Kentucky Horse Park from 2pm to 3pm. This year, the spirit of HalloWhinny is taking over the weekend. Halloween is approaching, and the park won’t let the holiday pass without offering two presentations of HalloWhinny, the annual Halloween show, where park horses and their riders are likely to show up as just about any kind of “scary,” funny, or quirky dual human/horse costume for the holiday. Held at 2 p.m. on October 29th and October 30th in the park’s Breeds Barn, park employees and special guests will show off costumes that many have planned all year. Joining the staff, volunteers (and of course, horses) from the Breeds Barn and Big Barn will be Patrick the Miniature Horse, retired race horses from Ohio Standardbreds and Friends, and miniature horses from Stampede of Love. **HalloWhinny is included in regular park admission. Boyd Orchard is having Last Fest. Take a hayride around the orchard, stop and pick some apples or pumpkins, enjoy lunch on the patio with live music and let the kids play on their playgrounds. Take your turn on the 90 foot slide, play on the 3 story tree house, or make your way to the top of the Giant Hay Castle! Kids $12 and adults $8. Evans Orchard is having a Harvest Festival, which includes pony and hay rides, corn bin, tire climb, large slides, jumping pillows, fresh kettle corn, train rides, and animal area. 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. $8 per child, adults free with a paid child admission. 180 Stone Rd. Georgetown.
Bi-Water Farms is having their AutumnFest. They have hayrides, Spooky FarmHouse, Enchanted Barnyard, Pirates Cove, Trike Track, Barnyard Babies, Lost Pumpkin Mine, li’l Pumpkin Play Patch, The Bird House, Bunnyville, Cowboy Corral, Billy Goat Mountain, 5 Acre Corn Maze, Sky High Slide, People Spinners, Bi-Water Ball Park, Pumpkin Vine Zip Lines, Bounce Around Corral, Chutes & Slides. Cincinnati Zoo is having their HallZOOween. Children 12 & under can trick-or-treat around the zoo, enjoy animal encounters, ride the Hogwarts Express Train and more. Monday, October 31st
Beaumont Branch Library Trick or Treat from 11:00am to 11:30am. Celebrate this candy-filled holiday with songs, activities, and our Trick-or-Treat costume parade! For ages 5 and under. Don’t forget to wear your costume!
Village Branch Library Spooktacular Halloween Party from 4pm to 5pm. Calling all, boils and ghouls! Wear your spookiest costume and join us for Halloween games, snacks, and fun!
Northeast Christian Church is having a Fall Fun Night. All Elementary age children and families are invited to a fun, safe Halloween alternative at NorthEast!
