What's Going on this Weekend- December 10th and 11th

Whew! We are getting closer and closer to the holidays and there are tons of fun holiday events going on in and around Lexington. Tons of free Santa events including breakfasts and picture events. Lots of other holiday events including train rides, storytimes, and parades. The weather looks cool with a high of 37 on Saturday and sunny and rain and a high of 40 on Sunday. Reminder, there are no storytimes at the libraries this month!
Saturday, December 10th
McConnell Springs is having an Outdoor Skills Class from 9am to 10am. Learn camping, hiking, knots, orienteering and more. They are also having a Wooden Ornament Carving event at 10am. $10 per child with prepayment required. Call 859-225-4073 to register.
Raven Run is having a Little Explorers: Winter Wildlife Treats event at 10am for grades K-5. Registration required; call 859-272-6105 to register.
Carnegie Center is having a Toddler & Early Learner Combined event from 10:30-11:30 a.m for ages 2-5 and parent or caregiver. Free and the first 25 pre-registered families in attendance will each bring home a free copy of the book each month. Due to the popularity of the class, you must print your email confirmation – or be prepared to open it on your mobile device – and show it in exchange for your book. Registration required. 251 W. Keeneland is having a Breakfast with Buckles event from 8:30am to 10:30am. Celebrate the holidays in your favorite pajamas with Buckles and the Keeneland Kids Club. Enjoy special holiday activities and crafts, donuts and hot cocoa. And don't miss the opportunity to have your photo made with Santa and Buckles.The event is free for Kids Club members; just bring an unwrapped toy or gift wrap supplies to donate to The Nest. Wild Birds Unlimited is having a Holiday Photos with The Grinch and Parrots from 11am to 2pm. Wild Birds Unlimited of Lexington, KY will be coordinating with Wings of Love Parrot Rescue Center of the Bluegrass, Inc. to offer photos with The Grinch and the birds of Wings of Love on Saturday, December 10th from 11am-2pm! Man of War Harley Davidson is having a Pictures with Santa event from 11am to 2pm. It's that time of year again... Santa's back! Bring the kids for free, professional pictures with Santa from 11am-2pm. Sit on his lap, tell him what you want for Christmas, pull his beard, whatever! Skyzone is having a Toddler Time with Santa from 10am to 11am. Sky Zone Lexington will be hosting a very special Toddler Time on Saturday Dec 10th with Santa joining in the fun! Toddler Time is open to jumpers 5 years and younger. The price is $10 for one hour (10am-11am) and includes the SkySocks. There is no charge for parents to come watch the kiddos jump ($2 for SkySocks if parents want to go on padded areas that surround the trampolines) Santa will be joining us until 12pm if older kids want a chance to say hello! J's Place in Nicholasville is having a Christmas Candyland where kid's can decorate cookies from 11am to 1pm. Kids can make their way to different Candyland stations to decorate sugar cookies for free! St. Nich parade downtown Nicholasville starts at 5:30pm and immediately following the parade, Santa will be at J's to meet the kids and take photos! More information here.
St. "Nich" event in downtown Nicholasville. Activities will take place all day throughout downtown Nicholasville including: shopping at local businesses and eateries, 5-K Run, music, dance, craft show, parade and Santa! An old fashioned Trolley will be making its way through downtown Nicholasville carrying festival goers to destination stops. Parade begins at 5:30pm. South Elkhorn Church is having a Drive-Through Bethlehem event from 6pm to 9pm. Start or continue a family tradition by joining us for our annual event o the grounds of South Elkhorn. The night features live characters and live animals! Drive your family through a reenactment of this splendid evening leading up to the birth of Christ!
