What's Going on This Weekend February 11th and February 12th

A very busy weekend coming up with tons of Valentine's Day events. If you have a chocolate lover (or are one), check out the Chocolate Stroll in Midway or the Chocolate Covered Sampling at Good Foods Coop. Or, check out the American Girl Crepe event, a Lego Batman event, a Superhero event, or some special themed story times. Or, take your princess to the Princess and King Ball on Sunday. After a few days in the 30s, we are looking at another 60 degree weekend. Although, it will be a wet one. Enjoy and happy Valentine's weekend!
Saturday, February 11th
Toys R Us is having a Lego Batman Movie building event from 1pm-3pm. Make and take home Emmet's Bat-car. Plus, take part in an Arkham Asylum Breakout hunt. More information here.
Raven Run is having a Salamander Search at 1pm. So many salamanders call Raven Run home. Join park staff for a walk along the creek in search of the streamside salamander. Be sure to wear waterproof boots for this program/hike. More information here.
South Elkhorn Church is having a Raising Runners Training Run from 9am to 10am. It's hard for our little runners to get their training runs done when it's so cold outside. Ashleigh Freda, The Running Wife, has organized training runs to be held at South Elkhorn Christian Church. Ages 2-10 are welcome to join us for a FREE running clinic, if you are able please bring a canned food item or warm clothing item such as hats/gloves (children's sizes needed) so we can donate to some of our friends. Doors will open at 8:50am, and we require all parents to stay with their child, space is limited to 50 children so please RSVP. More information here.
Midway is having a Chocolate Stroll from 10am to 5pm. Join the merchants of Midway as we celebrate Valentine's Day & chocolate lovers one and all!Begin your chocolate stroll down historic Main Street where each business will have a chocolate treat for you to enjoy as well as fantastic Valentine's Day specials! Pick up your FREE ticket at Historic Midway Museum Store. Have your ticket stamped inside ten business locations and then drop it in our raffle, enjoying chocolate at each stop. Good Foods Coop is having a Chocolate-Covered Valentine's Sampling from 11am to 4pm. We're getting you prepped for the day of love with plenty of chocolate! Stop by the Co-op Saturday, February 11 from 11 am - 4 pm to take a dip in our chocolate fountain. We'll provide you with fruit, cake, pretzels and other goodies you can smother in chocolate, plus a Valentine's themed beverage to wash it all down. This is family friendly and FREE! While you're here, pick up some house-made treats like chocolate-covered strawberries or chocolate-dipped shortbread for your sweetheart (or for yourself). More information here.
J's Place in Nicholasville is having a Superhero Saturday event from 11am to 1pm. Batman, Superman, Captain America AND Spiderman will be at J's Place on Saturday, February 11th! Oh my! What fun! Bring your little superheros and enjoy us for a FREE photo op and craft! More information here.
Dancer's Pointe in Winchester is having an Anna and Elsa's Valentines Day Party from 5pm to 8pm. Anna, Elsa, Olaf, food, face painting, crafts and more! Drop the kids off for a night of fun while you celebrate Valentines Day with your loved one. For children 3-9 years of age. $15 per child (max $45 per family not exceeding 5). More information here.
The Family Center in Wilmore is having a Baby Sign event at 10am. Learn basics of Baby Sign! If you are interested in continuing to use Baby Sign and learn you might engage in a weekly playgroup for continuing support, modeling and questions. More information here.
The Family Center in Wilmore is having a Get Me Out of this Power Struggle event at 1pm-3pm. Power struggles happen between parents and children, spouses, siblings, co-workers, and employers and employees. Understand why we all love power struggles, what we can do to prevent them, and how we can get out of them. The Family Center in Wilmore is having a Single Parent Power event from 5pm to 7pm. A Monthly meeting for parents like you! Parenting with out a Partner. Everyone is welcome! Meetings are laid back and have lots of time for eating and talking while kids of all ages have something to do! We hope to have things like Game Night, Craft Night, maybe even a special guest or two. Help us spread the word and come hang out!!!DETAILS: Bring the kids or get a sitter, its up to you. $5 meals will be available - sponors coming soon. The Academy is having a Valentine's Day Lock In from 6pm Saturday until 8am on Sunday. Fun evening of games, play with friends, snacks, movies, inflatables, and more!!!!Parents can celebrate Valentine's Day without having to worry about the kids. The Lock In starts at 6pm Saturday, and ends at 8am on Sunday. Cost is $50.00 (second,third or fourth child just $40.00 each). More information here.

Sky Zone has Toddler Time from 10am to 11am. Let your kids 5 and under enjoy three different jumping areas, including a foam pit. Toddler Time is a great shared experience for child and parent. A time for your little ones to discover the joy of being active, bouncing under the supervision of their parents, and without interference from the big kids. $12 per child, including socks. $2 extra for non-jumper parent socks. Williams Sonoma at Fayette Mall is having an American Girl Valentine's Day Crepe Party at 10am. Let's have a crepe party! Crepes are super-fun to make, and you can finish them with whatever tasty fillings and toppings you'd like, such as chocolate, fresh fruit, or jam. Then serve them to your friends and family. Sunday, February 12th
Quest Community Church is having a Princess and King Ball from 4pm to 6pm. The Princess & King Ball is a special event for daughters of all ages. It is an opportunity for them to be treated like ladies and to be reminded that they are loved by God and by the kings in their lives. It is an afternoon of food, dancing, and fun that our girls look forward to all year! If a dad cannot attend, a handsome KidsQuest volunteer will be eager to escort your princess.
